Subject: '87 SynchroŠHow much to offer?
Comments: To: Vanagon@VANAGON.COM

When the tranny in my '84 Vanagon packed it in, I started looking for some transportation. I came across the following:

'87 Synchro, 4spd., PS, PB, AC, alloy wheels, Weekender package Recent tires(205/70R14 SBRs by LeMans), brakes and clutch

I have seen it and body and paint is quite clean with some seam rust(hard or expensive to fix?) and some rust on horizontal panel behind front bumper. No visible drips from heads, case or tranny. Odometer says 93,000 miles.

Owner will accept "best offer" but is out of town for weekend holiday.

Assuming it drives okay, passes a pre-purchase inspection and doesn't drip after driving, what would be a "good" price to offer? How much to "steal" it and how much is "too much?"

TIA

Jerry
