Subject: Assorted Westy (1991) questions

Hello y'all, Returned from a trip in the Westy to the Mazama/Winthrop Washington area over the weekend with a few questions. First let me say for the record that Mazama is just over the Cascade crest on the east side of the range (cascades that is) and is absolutely beautiful. LOTS of free National Forest camping with miles of mountain biking/ rock climbing/skiing (in season) etc. Met a family at THE gas station in a blue 1991 westy which they bought last year with (drum roll here) 20,000 miles! Anyway to the questions. Something I have been pondering the options about was the best way to improve the upper bed comfort levels. IE make it softer. what has worked well for people? things that can be folded as original are preferred. Does it bother anyone else that the water pressure from the faucet is just short of a fire hose which splashes all over the place? Any one ever modify this system for variable pressure/ two speed/or other? Another thing which I would like to alter (in case you had not guessed it is my nature to alter things which I find to be not quite right for my taste) is the fact that I have to swing out the table in order to access the two hatch/cabinets. Anyone ever hinge this table or figure a system that works? Does anyone know what sort of water proofing the canvas poptop got at the factory? I think mine may need a new application. That is about it and thanks in advance
