So don't buy the line that they are the same as 2WD. **************************** That's why Bosch has superseded the SR19x (2wd) to SR401x (Syncro) this year in their applications (so did VW) because people on the aftermarket kept trying to use one for the other - it's a no go like Tim says. SR401X's are the only ones I sell.

If a FLAPS wants to sell you a Bosch SR19X, tell them no way, you want the Bosch SR401X. The 401 is a couple of bucks higher than the 19, but has the correct solenoid. ($167.94 exch for SR401X)

BTW - Bosch lists NO replacement solenoids for any Vanagon past 1981 except for Diesels. You have to buy the whole thing. Bummer.
