You don't even have to change the oil.! *************************************** Because not one A/C shop I've inquired to about such alternatives will touch the stuff, even FR-12, at least here in "regulation intensive" California. Many of the alternative subsititutes are very hard to find, sometimes called "orphan refrigerants". Why fool with it, doesn't make sense to me. The only one you can buy off the shelf in a FLAPS is R-134a - all others you have to go to a shop according to the latest regulations. If you have to go to a shop, stick with your present R-12 or spend the bucks to properly convert to R-134a.
