Purely a guess, but based on the fact that it took me about an hour to put one
on our 1976, I would imagine that VW made it just as easy on the Vanagon. The
Type II had a little tab with a hole all drilled in it, all it needed was a
cable and handle, and a small grommet through the upholstery.
