Details on where I might get these things cheaper than the $13 I am paying now would be much appreciated. I have checked with a couple of electronics stores around here. They say it is a "propritary" chip made especially for VW and available only from them. The VW place here tells me that VW changed the part # in 1985; they do not know why as (they say) the voltage on both is the same (10.5v). Do you have the 2 or the 3 legged connection? Are you aware of any other difference in the circuit? I note in the Bentley Manual that there is no picture of my Clock/Fuel/Temp gage setup either, as there is none for the "2-legged" connection for the Voltage Stabilizer.

Thanks
