The inputshaft of the SA tranny is like the standard Vanagon, but the drive/CV flanges are of that make you will find at the Syncros.

As the SA trannies are not that expensive (DM 2400.- at Winkler, Germany) you may choose to swap the whole drivetraing including the inner CVs.
