Details on where I might get these things cheaper than the $13 I am
paying now would be much appreciated. I have checked with a couple of
electronics stores around here. They say it is a "propritary" chip made
especially for VW and available only from them.
The VW place here tells me that VW changed the part # in 1985; they do
not know why as (they say) the voltage on both is the same (10.5v).
Do you have the 2 or the 3 legged connection? Are you aware of any other
difference in the circuit? I note in the Bentley Manual that there is no
picture of my Clock/Fuel/Temp gage setup either, as there is none for the
"2-legged" connection for the Voltage Stabilizer.
