Serious progress has been made with the motor mounting system for project 2.3. The scary thing is, it all bolts together, no welding required. The diesel mounting bar idea has been scrapped. This is good news for those considering this swap, no exotic parts to endlessly search for and get reamed when you find them. The van has not and will not be cut, and everything still fits. The only exception being the engine lid. The ford 2.3 will have modern serpentine drive belts with the ford PS and AC accessories retained and interfaced with the existing vw systems. This sucker is heavy, and my stock rear springs are showing their deficiencies. Maybe an upgrade to camper or syncro springs will solve this problem. Pictures to come....
