Hi listees.... Well since itīs friday Iīd like to take the chance to tell you ībout my reason for buying a Vanagon. Iīm breeding Belgian Shepherd Dogs -tervueren ( for those of you who donīt know the breed it looks like a mix between Rin-tin-tin and Lassie and is about the same size too) an has always been driving around in rusted old Volvo station wagons, since they are both cheap and roomy - though dull !! But with four dogs and an engine breakdown on the latest -245 I started looking for somehing a bit bigger. I looked at Toyota Hi-Ace ( too boring) Chevy Astro ( way to expensive) and even a Suburban before I came across this VW Vanagon with 75000 miles driven for ībout 1400$ and there was no hesitation at all! I bought it! To my surprise Iīts almost rust free, has both summer and studded tires and - apart from some of the usual Digifant errors- runs like a champ! Iīve started to redo the interior a bit, gonna have dog cages on top of the engine and a seat / table that could convert to a bed but itīs gonna work as a daily commuter to my work -25 miles- too so there is nothing fancy to be done! Bu do you know what the best part of it all is ??? I find the car so amusing to drive that I go on 3-400 mile trips almost every weekend just for the fun of it and always with a big happy grin on my face :-) :-) So keep on going, hope ya all enjoy both the Vanagon and this very useful list as much as I do!!!
