Not sure what they did to the '89s to clear the closet door, have never seen it but we took our rear table top off and put it in storage and put our front table top on the rear arm. It is shorter and much easier to push around, not as tight. Also we keep it up about the same height as the stove side, that way we can open the 2 storage bins under the table without moving it. We took the hardware of the bottom of the rear table we no longer use and used it to make a mini table to support our little B&W TV (credit for design from listee Kelly Bauman) which now lives in the front table position. when camping we swing this out between the two front seats while driving it swings back in front of the sink.The bottom section of the table stand serves as a paper towel holder, can be reached from the drivers seat which comes in handy!
