I have done the headgasket/head replacement and put in new rings on a '91GL with some pretty simple tools. I did not remove the pistons but I did take out the liners.

At one time, about a year or so ago, the entire sequence of the job was in the archives.

If anyone needs guidance with the job, let me know.
