Hi all -

I'm getting set to buy new tires for vanagon and I could use a quick bit of advice from the group. I'm torn between going with a good OR light truck tire with a good load range like the BFGs 27.5x8LTs that I see several of you are using on your synchros and getting something closer to the factory specification with reasonable sidewalls like a 205/70R14C Michelin. It seems difficult to find anything in between. So, if several of you could throw me some wise recommendations I'd appreciate it. For you with the BFG's - how much is your speedo thrown off by these tires?

Also, the previous owner of my vanagon let the original owner get away with the alloys to put on his other synchro except that he forgot the spare. So for the next few weeks I'm looking for a set of 4 Alloys after that I may have one for sale.

Thanks,

James - '87 Vanagon GL Synchro New Mexico
