Thanks for all the supportive responses regarding my philosophical dilemma. I shall now plow ahead and continue with the syncro's mid-life maitenance schedule I want to implement, critics be damned. Truth is, I do not relish working on the van, althoug I do get satisfaction out of keeping it in prime condition. One reason why I want to take care of everything I can NOW is that I will have several years of hassle free usage. I did nothing to the van the first 4 years I had it, except oil changes and a water pump and routine maitenance. That's how I want the next four years to be... Thanks again.
