Actually, you can pick these up inexpensively at gun shows. Make sure you get the "good" ones. That is, try to get the actual surplus, which, due to guv'mint regulation, is getting harder. The knock-offs are not as good, prolly 'cause they don't have to meet milspec. The oatmeal bars in those are horrible; look and taste like plywood. $35 is a good price for a case of 12. Some even have "just add water" heaters so you don't even need to cook. I keep some in the van at all times.
