I have inherited an 84 waterboxer. The tranny runs fine in gears R and 1-3 but needs a bungee cord to hold it in 4th as it keeps popping out into neutral. The engine seems to have a head gasket leak as I am blowing oil (and probably exhaust) into the water, as evidenced by oil residue in the expansion tank. Fortunately, perhaps, the van came with a Bentley manual. At this point, is the manual worth more than the van? Any suggestions
