The AC on my 87 Synchro stops completely six minutes into cooling normally, like as if the
high pressure switch was trying to tell me something.

After a ten minute shutdown wait, you can repeat the above as often as you like.

Seems to drop out faster at hiway rpms rather than local traffic. Seems to get "supercold"
just before dropout.

Could this be the receiver/dryer full of grunge?
Can this part be cleaned or must it be replaced?
Are there rebuild kits?
Will the dryer from a Sicorro or a Rabbit or a Golf or a Jetta or whatever work?

Any suggestions?
