As I mentioned in my post about a week ago (see: A/C no place for DIY) there is tremendous value in having a fantastic A/C mechanic. You may want to have a mechanic check for a blocked expansion valve, and a blocked receiver/filter/dryer. Sounds like you high temp/high pressure over switch is cutting out to save your system. Have it checked ASAP.
