I have a 86 GTI parts car. I pulled the knock sensor harness out of it to use in the pickup. In two or three places VW joined 3-6 wires together using a crimp-on lug and liquid elect tape. This was then wrapped in plain black elect tape. After 12 years it still works great. Was still very goopy too. (I had to unwrap everything, I like to know what the factory does).

>Ref the last comment (~heat shrink tubing) does anyone have any experience, >thoughts, ideas regarding using 'liquid electrical tape'? I've felt it >seals better than the shrink tubing, but don't know how long it lasts.
