Subject: PB recall on '86 Syncro

Hi all,

I have just learned that my van('86 Syncro) is under recall bulletin PB, to have it's fuel tank replaced. Have any of the other Syncro owners out there had this done? What is the problem specifically that replacing the fuel tank solves? The reason that I ask is because I really really do not like the idea of turning my van over to my local VW dealer. It is running very well right now, and I am worried that they would mess something up doing a job of this size(pulling the tranny etc.) Any information would be appreciated. Thanks.

Cory Syncro Westfalia
