Yet another reason to double check everything you are told at the dealership: After running my Westfalia's VIN, I was told by the local VW dealership that it wasn't part of the 1991 injector recall (code RV). Somewhat dissapointed, I forgot about it for a couple of months. Just by chance today I checked http://www.automatrix.com/~skip/volkswagen/recalls.html#1987-1989 and sure enough, Fafner's VIN qualifies for the recall. I don't understand why the dealer would lie about it, since they are paid by VW anyway. In any case, I am planning to go back, and fight it to the end! Anyone else with related experiences? Cris.
