Well, now for my 2 cents worth. Drive, or run, to your local co-op, health food/bulk store- there you will find a wonderful assortment of healthy dehydrated food, great soup mixes, pasta, rice, soymilk by the boxed qt., and on and on! Being a vegetarian, I shop solely at my local co-op, and on my 4-6 week Westy trips, I NEVER have a problem with a hearty, healthy meal. You can pack enough in your Westy's tiny pantry to last 2 people for a month, easily. Plus, any major town will have another health food store to restock, if need be. Forget decaying animal flesh, and prepackaged foods with questionable ingredients- with what you can get at these 'alternative' stores, you can prepare better and heathier meals on the road, and for MUCH LESS $!.OK, I'm done with MHO. As far as cooking items, go ye to the nearest REI or other outdoors outfitter, and pick up a nesting set of 3 SS pots w/lids,about $40, but really worth it for the space savings. You should use a non-stick skillet for it's obvious properties and easy clean up. I usually use paper plates and bowls, except when I'm alone and eat straight from the pot. Real silverware is a good idea, though.Oh, you can also use the lids of the aforementioned pans for skillets or plates! This is how I've Westy-camped for 4 years now, and works real well for me.Hope this is of help. And for you hordes of carnivorous Westy folks- chill! I don't mean no harm, I just don't believe in harming other living animals.
