To stabilize your transmission so you can pull the engine out by itself, simple run a chain under the tranny and secure it on either side of the chassis - tighten it so it will not droop. Now you can pull the engine and the tranny will stay put. I have a parts van and the tranny has been in that position for a year or more. I am going to pull the tranny next week because I need it.
