Well, I changed the sensor and still have no fan. I did jump with a wire and both spped work. Here's the update: Took it to my local wrench and we noticed the radiator steaming with no fan. But the upper hose ehich I think is the return was cold and sqeezable up until the point that it would overheat. The new scenario is it needs a thermostat. But I find it strange that the fan switch and thermmostat would go bad at once unless one killed the other.

I did put a new switch in and started it up to the point the rad was steaming from the water we squirted on it earlier and the temp was way above 3/4 on the guage and still had no fan kick in. I'm at a loss here. I will be putting a new thermostat in on Monday. Hope this will cure the problem. I went to buy a Bentleys at a local vw shop here in Milwaukee (Mofoco) and they were out.
