Subject: Westy LP tank two stage regulator

While working on my Dometic fridge I foung a leak in the two stage regulator off the LP tank of my '85 Westy. After a few phone calls and a trip to a local RV supply place I returned home with a new two stage regulator.

Old regulator Part Number 260-00 (discontinued)

New regulator Part Number 290-00

These are made by Marshall Gas Controls (1-800-877-2495) and I paid $16.98 for mine. The new regulator is slightly longer (I'd guess ~1-2") and shaped more like a figure eight instead of a rectangle. The product info sheet sheet says the dimensions are 5 3/4" L, 3 1/8" W, 2 5/8" H.

After I got home I realized I needed a different protective cover for this. The old regulator had a two part plastic cover, half of which was riveted to the tank guard, the other half connected with two screws. I guess I've got an excuse to go back to the RV parts store now.

Hope this helps someone.
