After 5 tanks of gas (with me as owner) I've averaged the following for a 91 Syncro Westfalia running Webber two barrel progressive Carbs, and premium pertrol: Overall: 12.6 L/100 km = about 19 MPG City: 13.5 L/100km = about 18 MPG Highway: 11.1 L/100 = about 21 MPG This represents a little better than other Syncro Westys, in my MPG survey a few months ago. These results are closer to straignt 2WD. My engine has about 50,000 Kms on a factory new engine and, as I said, I run premium petrol. Many of you may know the story, those interested in the "why" etc. can check the archives under my name or "Carbs to FI " or "Carbs to EFI" Please, I don't want to start the discussion about EFI vs Carbs, I post this to the list for anyone's information. So far it seems to be an acceptable alternative for ME! I again caution that the emisions will probably NOT pass in places with laws on the subject. Malcolm S.
