Has anyone tried installed a 2nd battery in the engine compartment, drivers' side, like in the older buses? I haven't measured, but it seems there is almost enough room for a standard battery there. I'm just toying with ideas about a 2nd battery for lights, radio, pump etc. when camping, but don't like the idea of a custom size battery under the driver seat. Or should I just get a small 12v utility battery, stick it under the seat (or maybe in the spot ahead of the water tank) and be done with it, considering the lower power draw of lights, etc? I just want to run 4-5 days without worry of draining the starting battery. As it is, I can go 2-3 before the battery meter shows less than a full charge, at which point I usually run the engine for a bit to top it up. ======================== Shawn Wright Computer Systems Manager Shawnigan Lake School 250-743-6240 swright@sls.bc.ca |
