Well, still running hot after a new thermostat and a thermo-sensor on the radiator. The mechanic, (who is not Vanagon savvy) claims it is not a clogged radiator because the whole thing is getting hot. After a few phone calls, I,m driving approx 1.5 hrs away to a friends who has a vw shop with his dad who thinks it's probably a plugged rad. It has happened on their own vehicle and a pressure flush cured it. Hope this is all it is. There's only approx 15,000 miles and 4 years on a rebuilt head job with no exterior leaks, but I don't see how that would make it run hot.
