I deal with systems, including wiring harnesses, inside aircraft fuel tanks. We also crimp and solder connections.

A note of caution: 1) use a minimal amount of solder to prevent it from wicking up the wire & under the insulation. This will cause premature failure. and 2) make sure you clean, clean, and clean again to remove all of the flux after soldering. We have a process so we don't even need flux, but very difficult in a shop environment.
