So making a key is going to be a locksmith's domain by "impressioning" the lock with a blank and making a key from that. Uses the "SC" Key Profile, which is common on Beetles and Super Beetles. In fact the lock is the same as a 74-79 Super Beetle and Convertible.

I've got a box full of good, used glove box locks, but no keys. I'm having to do this the hardway by code-cutting every "SC" Pattern (about 300 different codes) for a huge key ring to eventually try to figure them out to make keys for them. Dealer gets over $47 for a new lock which is crazy. When I have these used ones keyed I will be getting $15.00 each.

I was able to get brand new ones until recently from one importer for about $26.95, guess I'll call them tomorrow to see if I can get more.
