You are one of the very FEW who have accomplished it. I used this same tool that a glass shop buddy locally to try to insert the chrome on my Ex-80 Wanagon a few years back. Ended up cutting up and ruining the rubber and replaced the seal anyway. Maybe he didn't properly know how use the tool (I sure as heck didn't).

Even he said the proper way was to have the window out (and many others before him as well). So I still stand by my original post on replacing these - do it with the window out - a lot less cuss words will be involved.

I do like your quick fix. Good ole American ingenuity - ya can't fake it :-)
