The previous owner of my 1981 Vanagon Westfalia bolted a slideout CB mounting bracket to the interior roof panel. It sits centered above & between the seats, immediately forward and just above the rear view mirror. The mic cord loops down from the right side of the unit beneath the mirror and up to the mic clip attached to the left side of the unit. The rear view mirror is totally unobstructed, the CB readily at hand and as easily heard as can be in a Vanagon. The interior roof panel has sagged a bit due to the weight of the CB unit, but this has not proved to be a structural problem. I really like this arrangement.

I need to replace my CB antenna/mount. Presently I am using an "L" shaped bracket which clips to the rain gutter above the driver's door. The antenna bolts to the top of the bracket. I also am ready to listen to suggestions. Photo URL's would be cool.
