Jest an FYI--

A buddy of mine is a tire engineer for Bridgestone/Firestone. He tells me there is a LOT of cross-branding of tires in the industry, particularly for places like COSTCO, Pep Boys, K-mart, etc.

B/F creates a tire casing and tread design, (like the Potenza), and switches out some sidewall name-plates in the mold to create the discount-market tires. They are essentially the EXACT same tire as the name brand.

Now you know. :)
