Subject:      [Fwd: cooling system failures]
Comments: To: Vanagon@VANAGON.COM
Content-Type: multipart/mixed;

My cooling systems failures on an 88 Syncro as follows:

Both heads replaced by PO at about 100,000 kms. Not positive about the milage here.

I have replaced since 120,000 kms.

- small dia. metal line to thermo - small dia. metal line to oil cooler & water pump 130,000 kms

- temperature sensor ll. Just a precaution. 135,000 kms

- small plastic flange ch/to metal under power steering - large plastic coolant runnining length of van had cracked lip. Did not replace. Used longer hose. 140,000 kms

Currently at 160,000 kms and will soon need to replace metal pipe running from right head to water pump. The one behind the pulleys.

Also have minor seepage from water pump gasket at head. That can wait.
