So, I mentioned this before (though it was in a thread dealing with the switch for the fog lamps... On my Syncro, I have a power cutoff switch in the dash (on the right side of the instrument cluster). Now here's the curious thing. In the Bentley they DO show a power cutoff switch for earlier Vanagons, but do not show it in the electrical diagrams for the 86 and later ones (mine is an 86). This is not the first time I've seen on a VW mismatch between what is documented as being in a given model year and what is actually installed on the car (My 93 Corrado has everything indicated for the 93 model, except it has a distributer, whereas the Bentley indicates that 93's and laters used distributerless ignition...) I guess I'll just pull the cutoff switch and dangle it behind the dash, so I can install the fog switch in that location. |
