good grief... if you have to put undercoating on with a tool - like a trowel or something, then you're using the wrong undercoating....might try "kool patch" to fill the holes in the driveway, seems like that would be a better use for it. in my "novice" bodywork days, i used to use roofing tar (yep!) to fill the holes on my bug...just warm it up, and smear it in there... :<) only prob was that a few months later, it would seperate from the metal behind it, and water and dirt would set behind it, rotting the car out even further... you want undercoating to be sprayed on...and the OEM VW undercoating (parrafin waxy type stuff) is the best, cuz it seeps into all the holes..email Canadian listmember Tim Smith at: smitht@unb.ca he's got a good undercoating technique and recipe, keeps the rust at bay well..
