The "spare" 83b pin is for the optional rear fogs. Notice also that 83b and the lightbulb inside the switch share the same circuit.

As clearly shown on my diagram, hook the B16 wire to the 83a connector, hook the B20 wire to the 83 (perhaps that is what you mean by "+") connector. The back of the lightbulb socket should only be the ground -- a VERY tiny push-on connector, I might add. There are no other connections to the lightbulb (even though it kinda looks like there might be).

My fogs seem plenty bright (for foglights). I often use them as daylight driving lights and forget to turn on my "regular" lights once nightfall happens -- they appear to be about as bright as my lowbeams.

Funny thing about this Projecktzwo setup -- the switch doesn't operate the relay!!! The relay is opened by turning on yer lights -- thus the switch has the full foglight current running through it! However, it never seems to get hot to me, so I'm not bothered by this detail.

If you are getting "weak" lights you probably have a poor ground somewhere (although you could also have a poor C22 connection). Get yerself a multimeter and test the current for the power (blue) wires (should be 12volts) and test the amperage (OHMs) of the ground -- should be zero.
