Hi Vanagonners! I know that a lot of you guys are syncronauts whose goal is to like Blazerowners ride around with your heads close to the clouds on 33" tyres and stuff, but maybe in an earlier life you have been more earthbound and like me had a strive for beeing on the ground! In that case, have you ever tried cutting the coilsprings on a 2wd Vanagon and what was the result? My aim is to get a bus that is not as sensitive to sidewinds since I´m almost always on highways but I still want it to be fairly comfy! But I fear that with the cut coils I´ll have to get myself a Harleyowners kidneybelt so I thought I´ll check it out first! If you tried this how much did you cut ( ½ lap, 1 lap, 11/4 etc.) And were you able to get the bus in level ( back and front end that is ! )? I know there is aftermarket lowered coils but here in Sweden they cost app 700$ compaired with 150$ for original size! BTW is there a difference between models, I have the basic "Transporter" - to be compared with "GL", "Caravelle", "Westie", maybe I could pick something up at the wreckyard???
