Dear List,
I am missing a little piece from my fuel evaproative control system called a "restrictor" which is a small, 1/2" piece of round metal or plastic rod with a small drilled hole in it -- hence the name "restrictor". It is located inline with the vacuum hose that comes from the charcoal filter valve located in the top-right of the engine compartment as you are looking down on the engine.
See page 20.16 and 20.33 of the Bentley manual.
Well, VW no longer carries this part so I am going to fabricate my own from a piece of aluminum rod. Only thing is I don't know how small a hole to drill. Could someone measure their's and pmail me with the proper dimension???
Thanx.
