The software patches will be scattered all over the neighborhood if you use a cell phone or a cordless phone, causing partial downloads of the Y2K fix to infect susceptible ECUs within range...rendering them useless! The fix in this case would be worse than the problem... There is a better solution in the works which will require you to affix your cellphone onto the cover of the ECU box, register your vehicle and cell phone number on our Web page and wait for midnight, Dec. 31, 1999, when we'll administer the Y2K fix to your vehicle's ECU. BTW, the vehicle has to be running at the time of the fix otherwise it won't work...We guarantee our work and will cheerfully refund your $50 (which will be charged to your credit card in November 1999) sometime during 2000, if, for some reason your ECU no longer works after the Y2K fix.
