I would be interested in hosting the results, I think an HTML form
would be the best way to go (like the head survey), then enter all of it
in Excel. I can't promise I'd be fast about it, but I can do it and
have the web space. If a lot of you want to see something like this let
me know, I could have a form set up in a few days to start accepting
data. Suggestions for what should be included are also welcome, here's
my initial thoughts:
-Another question, should it be when the component failed, or when it
was replaced/fixed?
-Obviously these aren't in any order, they will be grouped to systems
and related components and then subdivided into year for example:
Steering Rack:
1980: n/a
1981: n/a
~~~~
1986: 20,000 km, 09/88, leak from drivers side boot
99,000 mi, 12/92 rack fell off
1987: 127,000 mi, 03/98, leaked from passenger side boot (mine)
What do you think, can you think of a better way to organize it?
-Data for each entry should include year of vanagon, mileage and age
when component failed/replaced.
