ari, my 91 syncro has 53k on it and the muffler and tailpipe are both shot and need replacing. actually, the muffler could probably go for another 10k but the tailpipe is not coming off w/o killing the muffler. having owned more porsches than i could count, i never replaced the stainless exhaust parts even though some of them had major miles on them. so the question is, how many miles will you put on the vanagon and does that justify the additional $250? cheers jim catterson 91 syncro 93 ev gl ny
