Michael, actually the cold start cable was left off when the new pump was installed because it had to be ordered from the dealer and took a couple of weeks to get here. What I meant to say was while it was in the shop to have the cable installed the mechanic would check the glow plugs, etc. and try to find the starting problem. Hopefully he will discover the problem and fix it after he installs the new cable. It is probably timing or leaking injectors or both.
