Dear volks and gentle people,


I have taken the plunge and am officially a newbie, or almost.  I bought the
'87 Westie Syncro.  There was no time to haul this one off for diagnostics
as other suitors were lurking in the wings so I broke all the rules and
bought it anyway.  (No obvious gushing oil or coolant leaks apparent.)  It
has to pass California smog this week before the money actually changes
hands, but I'm not shopping anymore.  What a relief.  Now all I have to do
is spend all my money and all my attention on it!


If nothing else, it has a terrific German cupholder!
