I dunno 'bout taking a laptop camping. First off, for me, Computer=Work. Some days, I spend 8-12 hours looking at a computer. I love my work, but I don't want it around while I'm camping.

Second off, we had a saying in the Marine Corp, (amoung other sayings which are not appropriate to a family show, like ours): "Don't take civilian gear to the field, unless you want it damaged". Of course, we'd see the young Lance Corporals and PFC's toting "toys" out to the field: cameras, walkmans, electric socks, etc. Those fellas would always be wearing long faces on the way back to garrison 'cuz they got rain on the radios and mud in their Minoltas.

Third off, I love my *book* Bible. It's starting to look like Hell, and that's what comforting about it. It has seen campfires, and its seen rain. Nothing is better when you are trying to "recharge" your batteries by camping, than cozying up to a book, particularly the Good Book.

Finally, maybe I am just old fashioned and wierd about this, but I don't want sacred scripture recorded magnetically and beamed at me in 1's and 0's. Something doesn't seem right about that. Like going to a seafood restaurant and ordering a Hot-Dog. Maybe it's just me.

My $2.25 worth.
