>I'm looking for a water/rain proof hard case that fits into the luggage >compartment above the cab of my 1984 Westy. I would prefer that it locks or >has a hasp so that I can put a padlock on it. Does such a beast exist? I've been using an extra-large, extra-deep plastic under-bed storage box. It's worked out pretty well. It stayed dry inside during the tornado-warning-flood-watch-rainstorm I drove through in Iowa yesterday. I'd really like something a bit bigger, though - the luggage area's a few inches longer and wider than the box, and I could probably go a few inches taller. (I'd probably want something a bit more aerodynamic in that case, though.) I did discover that bungee cords aren't enough to hold it down - it danced around an awful lot at highway speeds if there was much wind. Adding one non-elastic strap did the trick. -Steven Sittser |
