Just to make Kristin feel better, what's the dumbest repair thing you've ever done? Checking you gas tank with a lighter doesn't count, 'cause we know you wouldn't be here to talk about it. I have two good ones from my younger days. On a dark and rainy night (no excuse!) I poured water into the oil filler of my girlfriend's overheated car. We made it about another mile down the road. Can anybody top that? With another girlfriend (you know what happened to the first one) on yet another overheated car, I poured ice-cold water into the nearly empty radiator of her (aluminum head) Datsun 610. Within minutes that same water was coming out of the tailpipe. Oops. I'm on my third girlfriend now.
