I put a 79 motor into my 80 with little trouble....all heat exchangers
tin had to re do the breather vent on the front of the engine next to
dist. as vanagons is sealed...with a hose, had to put hose onto the non
sealed vent on the 79, biggest prob was 79 was auto and didnt have
bearing in crank like stick. I just couldnt find the vibration and kept
busting the oil ring in the tranny...finally figured it out and its cool
now.
