Subject: Re: coolant temp send wire
Comments: To: Vanagon@Vanagon.com

Tyrone, Larry, David, thanks for a quick response. However, still no solution. Following the large hose from the water pump to the thermostat housing (goes in the lower left side and out the upper right side), I have examined this housing thoroughly and there is no place to connect. Just below this housing is another housing for the temperature sensor and there is a two-wire connector there, but no way to connect this single red/yellow wire. The two wires from the sensor in the coolant reservoir are enclosed in their own race and they also go into the black box on the fire wall, but there is no place to plug in this red/yellow wire. Reservoir is full.

When I started the van this afternoon, the red LED blinked as usual on start up, then flashed dimly for about a block, getting brighter, then full on red flashing. Needle does not move. Also noticed that the gas needle did not go to full, even tho I just filled the tank.
