Please reply to Kohl_Rochelle/r5@fs.fed.us, not I. Thanks. -----Original Message----- From: Kohl_Rochelle/r5@fs.fed.us [mailto:Kohl_Rochelle/r5@fs.fed.us] Sent: Tuesday, July 07, 1998 6:48 AM To: coyote@vanagon.com Subject: 84 vanagon question
I wasn't sure if you can answer this. Since I'm going on a trip, I had the coolant changed. They put in autobahn coolant. I had no problems prior to this coolant change. My temp guage always was at the 1/2 mark. Right after the coolant change, my guage now goes higher up to the 3/4 mark. I talked to the repair shop and they said changing coolant couldn't cause this. They said they bleeded system correctly and there are no air bubbles. My vanagon never went past the 1/2 mark and now when I just wait for a traffic light it goes higher than 1/2 mark. The repair shop is now saying maybe I need a thermo switch. I'm confused bec I never had any problems until I got coolant changed. Repair shop says coolant change couldn't have done this. Any suggestions or ever hear of this problem? I was only doing preventive maintaince by changing coolant and now it appears I have a problem. |
